The Middle East Region is composed of countries that lie in the area connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe. The Middle East is considered the birthplace of civilization with some of the earliest civilizations coming from there. This is where the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia and Egypt came from and many modern day countries in that region were part of the Greek, Roman, and Byzantine Empires. This area is also where the major world religions of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism originated.

Guide to the Middle East: Best time to visit
The weather and climate in the Middle East varies depending on the location of the country. Countries such as Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt are in a desert area and are typically hot and dry during the summer while winters are mild. Rainfall in the countries lying within this desert area are very low.
Countries such as Syria, Israel, and Turkey have more of a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild wet winters. The countries lying within the Mediterranean area get more rainfall than the counties in the desert area.
Some countries in the Middle East, such as Iran, Turkey, and Lebanon, have areas in higher elevations and mountains. These countries (or specific areas within a country) have milder summers that are warm but winters can be cold and do get snowfall.
The best time to visit the Middle East largely depends on the specific country and the type of experience you’re looking for. Generally, you can expect cooler temperatures from October to April which will make traveling in the desert regions of the Middle East much more comfortable. It will still be warm and even hot on some days but you won’t be melting.
Countries that have more of a Mediterranean climate will find summers very hot but during the spring and fall it will be mild. If you’re wanting to enjoy beaches or boating then summer will be the best time to visit.
If you’re trying to find deals on airfare to a particular area then traveling during the off-season will work in your favor. For example, Egypt will be incredibly hot in July but if you are willing to deal with the heat then you’ll likely find some good deals. Thank God for air conditioning and swimming pools!
